Boston with a Two Month Old
How to Survive with a Baby
If you are traveling anywhere with a baby, let me save you the sanity. You will end up holding your baby most of the flight. The flight attendants are really great at moving you around so you can get a whole row, if the flight is not full. You will need some toys to keep them busy.
Fidget spinner toys. Absolutely great and he is almost four months and still loves them. They stick to the tray and screen so you aren’t constantly losing them and wiping them off.
Noise cancellation headphones. He wore these at take off and landing while drinking a bottle or using a pacifier, and he didn’t mind at all. We did practice him wearing them around the house to get use to them. He did not wear them the whole flight though, because it was hard for him to sleep.
Getting around
We opted to take public transportation with a Charlie Card. We paid $25 each for the whole weekend and Finley was free (kids travel with you free). This was the best choice for us. You can scan your phone wallet instead of getting a Charlie card, but either way, this was the best. It got us all around the city quickly and was safe.
We chose to do the public subway, because we did not want to bring Finley’s carseat. We have the Nuna, and we were not about to bring the Nuna Triv and car seat and hope that it did not get broken. We brought our Triv and Lytl bassinet, because he likes being in the bassinet vs carseat. We checked it at the gate and prayed, but honestly it wasn’t messed up at all. Thank you Delta Airlines :)
What to Eat
Saltie Girl : Looking for a cute outdoor seating (they have inside too)? Wanting the best lobster roll? Wanting the best sticky bun?
Tattee Bakery & Cafe: We went to the one in Beacon Hill, but get there very early, it was packed. It has so many amazing breakfast items (with a full menu). They also have a ton of sweets and amazing coffees and teas.
Places to visit:
Boston Public Library - it’s gorgeous, there is a courtyard, there are actual people studying.
Harvard- Though all I show is the subway, you can take it to Harvard and walk around to have your Elle Woods moment.
Ciao Roma is in the North End, which feels like a little Italy.
The Quincy Market has the Sam Adams brewery and a ton of fun attractions for shopping and it’s a food hall!
